Dr Simon de Jager

Dr Simon de Jager is a Urologist currently practising at Melomed Bellville. He completed a MBChB at the University of Pretoria with a distinction in Urology, Anaesthetics and Psychiatry. Dr de Jager completed his internship at Pietermaritzburg Hospital Complex. During the internship, he worked in various departments where he gained valuable clinical experience. He completed his community service at Kimberley Hospital Complex where his focus was on Urology, Family Medicine and Casualties. Dr de Jager worked in General Surgery at Khayelitsha Hospital and Greys Hospital. At these hospitals, he developed sound surgery cutting experience.

Dr de Jager went on to become a Medical Officer in Urology at Groote Schuur Hospital before obtaining his current role at Melomed. He has a special interest in Endourology, Laparoscopic Surgery, Reconstructive Urology, and Oncology. He would like to get involved with robot assisted laparoscopic surgery some day.

Dr de Jager's extensive knowledge and dedication stem from wanting to help people to the best of his ability. He also believes it’s important for his patients to feel comfortable and encourages them to voice any concerns they have. Being a Urologist requires diligence and adherence when it comes to patient care which is precisely what Dr de Jager aims to provide for patients.
